The Black Vulture and the Mediterranean Forest

Experience Description: A short drive to the feeding station will mark the start of this EECE, interpreting the natural values of the area and explaining the success of the conservation actions the Foundation has been carrying out for over a decade related to different habitats and species.

Among the conservation actions that will be explained during the tour, special emphasis will be placed on the work carried out related to a species included in the EU Birds Directive: the Black Vulture. Once at the feeding station, visitors will be placed in a hide to enjoy the experience of watching scavenger birds such as the black vulture, griffon vulture, red kite, black kite, and Egyptian vulture feeding just a few meters away. What a sensation! The experience will last approximately four hours.

Included Services: Within the Biological Reserve of Campanarios, there are three types of accommodations: the lodge with 8 double rooms and capacity for 16 people, the cottage with 2 rooms and capacity for 4 people, and the bubble with capacity for 2 people.

Additional services (transfer): It is possible to have lunch at the Reserve.
Minimum: 1 person – Maximum: 4 people.
Recommended time of year: Although it can be done year-round, the ideal time is between February and November when these birds have greater nutritional needs related to reproduction and breeding. The rest of the year, it can be done, but the chances of observation decrease.
Participant Adaptation: Suitable for all types of public, but not wheelchair accessible.
