The last bastion of the Iberian lynx

Sierra de Andújar Nature Park

Description of the Experience: Experience developed by the CBD-Hábitat Foundation in collaboration with the local company Naturoots.

We will start with an explanation of the successful work being done by the CBD-Hábitat Foundation with the Iberian lynx and a detailed talk about the feline. After learning about this key conservation effort, we will head out into the field for a guided 4x4 route that combines driving, walking, and waiting, aiming to visit the lynx habitat and, with some luck, spot a lynx or its traces.

This experience is available from September to May, with different schedules for autumn/spring and winter.

Winter schedule: 10 AM - 1 PM: Explanation about the Iberian lynx. 2 PM - 6:30 PM: Guided route.

Spring/Autumn schedule: Two visits to the Sierra de Andújar Nature Park in the same day. The first will be early in the morning to attempt a lynx sighting, ending with the lynx explanation from 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM. The second field visit will be at 4 PM and last until nightfall for further lynx observation.

Additional Transfer Service: Transfer from Andújar town (30 euros round trip).
Group Size: Minimum 2 people, maximum 10 people.
Recommended Time of Year: September to May.
