The Pasiegas Mountain and the Chamois. Guided Tour of the Ecomuseum

ZEC Eastern Mountain - Valles Pasiegos

Experience Description: This experience consists of a guided visit to the Ecomuseum – Fluviarium of the Pasiegas Mountains and River Basins in Liérganes.

At this interesting center, with the help of a foundation expert and exhibition materials and aquariums, you'll learn about the habitat recovery and species conservation actions that FNYH has carried out in the Pasiegas Mountains for over 20 years. Special mention goes to the reintroduction of the chamois.

This project began in 2002 with the release of 32 individuals from the Picos de Europa National Park. Since then, the chamois population has progressively increased, now exceeding 250 individuals. This is just one of the wonders awaiting you in Eastern Mountain. The visit to the Ecomuseum lasts about an hour and can be done year-round (visit must be arranged in advance).
