Description of the Experience: <\/strong> In this scientific ecotourism experience, we will not only attempt to see the bearded vulture in its mountains but go a step further: we will learn about the work of the Bearded Vulture Conservation Foundation in this reintroduction project. <\/p>

For approximately 4 hours, we will delve into the details of this species that disappeared from the Picos de Europa in the 1950s and is now returning to this protected natural area. The morning will start at the Visitor Center that the Foundation has in Benia de On\u00eds. There, a specialist will provide a detailed account of the success story and the scientific work involved in the recovery of this magnificent vulture. <\/p>

Next, we will head to the Mirador de la Reina, where bones are provided for the bearded vultures\u2014a real spectacle! This is the best opportunity to enjoy the presence of many species attracted by this feeding station. <\/p>

We will understand the purpose of providing these bones and learn more about this spectacular species in the field. Did you know that, in addition to helping the bearded vulture, this feeding also significantly reduces the carbon footprint? We will explain how, and you will be surprised. <\/p>

After understanding the Foundation\u2019s work and witnessing the feeding moment, we will travel to the Covadonga Lakes area, where we can learn about the lifestyle of the shepherds who produce the Gamoneu del Puerto cheese. Their work also contributes to the survival of the bearded vulture. <\/p><\/span><\/div>
