The Valley of Hiking and the Puron River Jewel

If you love hiking you have come to the right place. Valderejo is a spacious valley surrounded by steep slopes that culminate in rocks and crossed by nine trails, among which stands out the beautiful gorge of the Purón river, the scenic jewel of this Park.

In Valderejo you will find a varied fauna and flora. Its ornithological values are especially striking, and among its rocks is the largest colony of griffon vultures in the Basque Country.

In Lalastra, the heart of Valderejo, the Park House, which provides information on routes and services, and the Ethnographic Museum, which shows the history and customs of the valley, await you.

If you come with your family, there is a recreational area with children's equipment and picnic. Nearby are the villages of Lahoz, Villamardones and Ribera, the last two of which are already abandoned and interesting to visit. Also in the area there are remains of a Roman road, megalithic monuments (burial mound of San Lorenzo, monolith of Monte Lerón) and hermitages from different periods.

The Casa del Parque de Valderejo, located in the town of Lalastra, is located where the valley school used to be. This infrastructure was restored and enlarged with an additional height to serve as a reception center:
