1. Connection with the local environment: the kayaking activity in Cortegada takes place in the Parque Nacional Marítimo Terrestre das Illas Atlánticas de Galicia. Local guides will interpret and explain the rich biodiversity of the island, its flora and fauna, and the historical remains of the ancient settlement, promoting knowledge and conservation of the natural and cultural heritage.
2. Minimization of negative impacts: the number of visitors is limited and strict rules are followed to minimize environmental impact, including respect for the marked routes and the prohibition of leaving waste. In addition, the use of kayaks is encouraged as a sustainable means of transportation that does not generate emissions or noise pollution, thus protecting the natural environment.

De-seasonalization and de-concentration: by promoting guided visits outside the high seasons and through less traveled routes, visitor saturation is avoided at the most sensitive points of the island, contributing to a more authentic and environmentally friendly experience.4Circular economy and support for local development: the kayak rental activity in Cortegada is aligned with the principles of the circular economy by reusing and recycling materials as much as possible. The use of recycled products is encouraged and waste reduction is promoted through sustainable practices, such as the use of reusable packaging and the minimization of single-use plastic. Nature in its purest form
Through our kayak rental service we want to bring you closer to the natural heritage of our region. And one of them is the island of Cortegada. A small place full of history and charm.
Cortegada is part of the Parque Nacional Marítimo Terrestre das Illas Atlánticas de Galicia, so the activity will take place in an outstanding natural environment.
Located in Carril, a town known for its clam nurseries, the island is presented as a floating forest that houses a large vegetation. It is possible to reach its pier by kayak, enjoying a tour of the calm waters that bathe the island.
In addition, walking along its path you can discover the remains of the village that inhabited the island and enjoy the lush vegetation that forms Cortegada.
Prices
- Half day double kayak rental price: 25,00€/person.
- Full day double kayak rental price: 30,00€/person.
- Children under 8 years old accompanied by an adult: 50% discount.
- Children under 5 years old without occupying a place (in the middle of two adults): free.
- When participants prefer to use individual kayak instead of double kayak, the cost would be: 30,00€/person half day and 35,00€/person full day.
Timetable
We are open from 10:00am to 20:00pm
- Departures in the morning: between 10:00am and 12:00pm
- Afternoon departures: between 15:00am and 16:00pm
*If the client leaves later than 16:00pm, he/she must still return at 20:00pm.
The price includes
- Advice: explanation of the route, handling of the material and paddling technique.
- Necessary equipment for the activity: double kayak, paddle, vest, waterproof bottle, wetsuit (if necessary). If the group is odd, an individual kayak will be provided respecting the double kayak rate.
- App with geolocation and auto guide.

Booking conditions
- Payment will be made at our facilities on the day of the activity.
Cancellation policy
- In special personal cases (such as illness) and for weather reasons it is possible to cancel the reservation (or postpone it for a later departure). In any case, 24 hours notice must be given in order to justifiably cancel the reservation.
- Sometimes weather conditions make it impossible to carry out the route. In this case, the client can request to change the activity to another date if there is availability.
