The Fundación Aquila --Aquila Foundation-- was started in 2000 aiming to promote, organize, carry out, direct or finance initiatives in the field of science and technology, research and direct actions to benefit the conservation of eagles, humans and the environment that they both share.
Among its priorities are those of researching and promoting effective solutions that reduce the most pressing problems of eagles for their conservation, such as poisoning, diseases and fertility problems; promote environmental education and awareness; and develop projects that benefit people who live with eagles in rural environments, highlighting the uniqueness of these species, for their social, economic and cultural development.
