In the region of Saja Nansa, is the largest Special Area of Conservation of those established in Cantabria, being an area of high and medium mountains with a large representation of the typical forests of Cantabria.
The ZEC Valles Altos Nansa, Saja and Alto Campoo covers an area of 51,098.5 hectares in the Nansa Valley, Polaciones and high areas of Tudanca, Rionansa and Lamasón. This protected area is a natural jewel. Its emblematic forests and its enormous diversity of flora and fauna stand out.
