Geornithology

A paradise for birds

The geology of the Loras

Las Loras, an exceptional geological enclave where the majesty of the limestone crests and cliffs, with walls of up to 50 meters, creates a unique setting. This landscape, where the geology is striking at first sight, creates a perfect refuge for a varied population of birds. The hollows, platforms and crevices offer an ideal breeding environment, making Las Loras Geopark home to impressive birds such as the griffon vulture, Egyptian vulture and red-billed chough, birds that can be easily spotted. Within the framework of the Tourism Sustainability Plan, new self-guided ornithological itineraries will be created. These routes, which will be put into operation between 2024 and 2026, offer unique experiences for nature lovers, promoting conservation and respect for the environment. A specialized guide is essential to enjoy this fragile natural heritage, providing valuable information and ensuring an enriching and respectful experience with the environment.
