Places to enjoy the connection with nature

We propose some places where it will be very easy for you to connect with nature. On foot, by mountain bike or approaching a viewpoint, where you will be almost alone and where you can admire and enjoy breathtaking landscapes.

Breathtaking landscapes of water and rock (Geo-Route 5)

Duration: 3,5 h (roundtrip). Elevation gain: 450 m. Description: This itinerary shows the keys to understand the geological conditioning factors in the landscape of the Sierra and Canyons of Guara.

 

It is a route through the spectacular canyon of the Vero River and combines views from inside the canyon and from several viewpoints. Water and rock are the protagonists of these landscapes that serve as a refuge for numerous botanical endemisms, without forgetting that they constitute an exceptional refuge for the fauna, especially the birds of prey that tirelessly fly over the Sierra.

 

These intricate reliefs were occupied by prehistoric man, who left valuable traces of his artistic activity in cave paintings that have been declared World Heritage by UNESCO. Some of these shelters are included in the itinerary of Las Escaleretas.

MTB Geo-Route 6. Middle bank of the Ara River

Duration: 3- 4 hours Elevation gain: 480 Technical difficulty: Easy Description: This is a pleasant and easy route, ideal for walkers. It starts in Fiscal and goes through a number of small villages on the right bank of the Ara River, which is cooler and greener than the opposite bank.

 

The highlight is the village of Jánovas, which is worth a leisurely visit. Then we will pass by the typical suspension bridge of Lacort over the Ara river, to connect again with the route that had brought us.

A sea of rocks ( Guaso)

Location: Tozal de Guaso viewpoint, next to the esconjuradero and church This viewpoint is a privileged place to observe how the geological substratum, product of a long and complicated history, determines the shape of the Sobrarbe County.

 

Looking around us, we can observe a sea of rocks, in which we can distinguish several landscapes with characteristic geological and anthropic features.
