Since its inception, Urdaibai Bird Center has planned a series of objectives that are developed gradually to see them fulfilled in the coming years. Among those related to the general public we find:- To deepen the knowledge of birds and their habitats in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve. - To involve the general public in the activities of the center, the research of birds, to bring them closer to the natural environment and promote their awareness of nature; - To carry out training activities at various levels of knowledge; - To promote ornithological tourism respectful of nature in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve and promote the development of infrastructures or facilities that facilitate or enrich ornithological tourism.

Avant-garde museum in Urdaibai
Located in a stunning location on the marsh, Urdaibai Bird Center is a state-of-the-art museum and observation point from which visitors can enjoy the world of birds and their migratory journeys.
Through the audio-guided experience and a bird watching session with telescopes and an expert, visitors get a real insight into the marsh habitat and the birds that inhabit it.
Every season is different. Every moment is different.
A visit to the Urdaibai Bird Center is always full of surprises. will the kingfisher perch on a perch above the marsh? will the wigeon ducks sing? will the osprey dive into the water?
With its huge observatory overlooking the lagoon, an 18-meter tower and two open-air public observatories, the Urdaibai Bird Center is the perfect place to observe birds in their natural habitat.
Opened in 2012, the center is managed by the Aranzadi Science Society, an organization with more than 70 years of experience in research and dissemination of human and natural sciences.

- Adult ticket (+ 12 years old): 7€/person.
- Child ticket (4 to 12 years old): 4€/person.
Group rate (more than 8 people):
- Adult ticket: 6€/person.

From November to February:
- Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 11:00 to 17:00 hours.
From March to May:
- Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 11:00 to 19:00 hours.
June, September and October:
- Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 to 16:00 hours.
- Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 11:00 to 19:00 hours.
- Closed Mondays.
July and August:
- Every day from 11:00 to 19:00 hours.
Additional information
It is not necessary to reserve tickets in advance.
The only way to purchase tickets is at the center's reception desk in person.
