Walking in the mountains. Medium level of demand

Hiking route with interpretation of the natural and cultural heritage through the medieval villages of the Tahá de Pitres; located in the heart of the Alpujarra.

The excursion can be defined as "author's journey" where the guide makes a solitary journey through the heart of the Alpujarra. The region of La Alpujarra is located on the south side of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and immersed in the Natural Park. Its small white villages seem to be "hanging" from the slopes that descend from the snowy peaks. The landscape is the result of human transformation of an untamed nature. The isolation of the region has preserved its original and unique landscape.

Our goal is to walk the medieval paths of the Tahá de Pitres that link the villages less traveled by tourists and hikers.

We will pass through Mecina, Mecinilla and Fondales, Ferreirola, Busquistar and Atalbéitar, as we advance along the path we will discover the corners of these villages, we will talk about their origin and history, their natural resources and traditions. We will walk along irrigation ditches, passing by ponds, threshing floors, mineral water springs and centenary chestnut trees.

Overall, the characteristics of this route will allow us to feel a real sense of immersion in the magical territory of the Alpujarra.
