Greatly committed to the natural environment
The Montseny Natural Park joined the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in 2011. The Association of Tourism Entrepreneurs of Montseny joined the project at its inception, with the aim of promoting quality tourism, respectful of the environment and preserve the value of cultural and natural heritage of the Natural Park of Montseny.
Already in 2024 Montseny Tourism joined the project Soy Ecoturista with the aim of working and collaborating with other Spanish natural areas that also promote travel in their spaces in a responsible manner, respecting their balance, minimizing environmental impacts and promoting experiences offered by companies committed to the conservation of the territory.
The Montseny Natural Park joined the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (CETS) of the EURPARC Federation in 2011. The Montseny Tourist Entrepreneurs Association joined the project at its inception, with the aim of promoting quality tourism, respecting the environment and preserving the value of the cultural and natural heritage of the Montseny Natural Park.
The organization works continuously to promote the principles of the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism and is committed to carry out actions that favor:
- Collaboration between the public and private sectors.
- The protection and valuation of the cultural and natural heritage.
- The offer of a high quality experience to visitors and the promotion of genuine tourism products.
- Local development and local circular economy.
- Adequate information to visitors, through knowledge about the protected natural area and its sustainability.
- De-seasonalization and decentralization with recreational proposals throughout the year.
The European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in Montseny has favored the creation of a space for debate in the territory itself, with the active participation of many agents of the territory, including Tourism Montseny. As an entity we are part of the bodies created such as the Forums and, in turn, we are also part of the general Working Group, as well as the Working Group on communication. In turn, we have been an active part in the drafting of the current action program, which involves our involvement -directly or indirectly- in more than half of the agreed actions.
The fact that the destination and more than a dozen tourism companies have the CETS distinction has made it possible for them to join Soy Ecoturista, an initiative of Turisme Montseny, as part of its commitment to promote tourism that contributes to the conservation and local development of the Montseny Natural Park and its surroundings.
