Since its declaration as a National Park in 1995 and its accession to the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in 2009, Cabañeros has been committed to ecotourism and the practice of tourism that is kinder to the environment and its inhabitants.
The conservation of its flora and fauna, the promotion of local development and environmental awareness are fundamental pillars of this commitment. Here, each visitor is an active part in the protection of a unique environment.

Discover the Mediterranean forest
Located between the provinces of Ciudad Real and Toledo, is the destination Cabañeros, a haven of biodiversity that has the best representation of the Mediterranean forest of the Iberian Peninsula: the Cabañeros National Park. With its more than 40,000 hectares of National Park, a total of 8 villages and its hamlets, it is a unique place to reconnect with you and the Mediterranean forest through the senses.
It is known for its vast forests, and the great possibilities of observing deer, Iberian imperial eagle, black vulture and lynx along with species of flora as representative as oaks, cork oaks, oaks melojos, and gall oaks. It is also a Starlight destination, and the quality of its skies full of stars, the possibility of touring it by motorcycle, and the presence of cheese dairies, wineries, oil mills and the network of Visitor Centers of the National Park, make it an ideal destination for ecotourism.A protected space where reconnecting with yourself becomes possible while breathing Mediterranean forest.
