In Fuentes del Narcea we feel a very special connection with our land and we believe you will feel it too. Half of the territory is protected by the Natural Park of Fuentes del Narcea, Degaña and Ibias and our "crown jewel" is the Integral Natural Reserve of Muniellos, a dream forest. A scenario in which tourism development is obliged to be respectful with the environment.
Since 2016 our region is immersed in an Ecotourism Development Plan, being the Association of Rural Tourism Fuentes del Narcea founding partner of the Association of Ecotourism in Spain and driving Fuentes del Narcea was the first destination in the Cantabrian Mountains to join the product club Ecotourism in Spain. Betting on a model of ecotourism based on the valorization, conservation and sustainable management of its natural, cultural and landscape resources through a model that contributes to the development and improvement of the rural environment with actions such as:

Encourage a responsible use of our Natural Spaces and respect for the species that inhabit them through the network of bear territories that allows visitors to approach this emblematic species in a respectfulway.The publication of a Manual of Good Practices for the observation of fauna and the promotion of local specialized companies to help visitors get closer to this emblematic species in a respectful way.
Enable the knowledge and enjoyment of nature and local heritage and ethnography with the celebration of the Festival of Ecotourism "endangered". An appointment that every May puts in value the nature and rurality of Fuentes del Narcea with experiences that combine nature outings, crafts, ethnography, gastronomy, traditions and customs so you can feel like a real ecotourist.
