Special characteristics: the cranes feed on the acorns and grasses of the oak groves of the Tiétar valley, and at dusk they go to roost at the Rosarito and Navalcán reservoirs.
More details: The guided tour will allow you to enjoy large flocks of cranes flying over the sunset and their peculiar call.

Special features: discover and explore the ruins of an Andalusian medina located on a balcony overlooking the river Uso, a tributary of the Tagus, surrounded by oak groves.
More detail: the city of Basques is an impressive medina with its most characteristic elements (citadel, mosque, and remains of Arab baths).
Iberian birds of prey up close at Águilas de Fuente Empedrada
Recommended season: any time.
Special features: a guided tour led by professionals in the conservation of birds of prey in this research center equipped with an aviary with irrecoverable specimens, and an interpretive exhibition on the ancient relationship between humans and eagles.
More details: The Águilas de Fuente Empedrada Holistic Center is located inside the ZEC-ZEPA Llanos de Oropesa, Lagartera and Calera y Chozas. It is a research center on endangered birds that has several rooms where you can learn about, interpret and appreciate the Iberian birds of prey.
The aviary houses irrecoverable specimens of Iberian birds of prey (Iberian imperial eagle, golden eagle, Bonelli's eagle, etc) and can be visited with a specialized guide from the Aquila Foundation who explains the conservation problems of these birds and their habitats.
The center has an exhibition on the relationship between eagles and mankind, which through panels and models shows the cultures of the eagle. Environmental education activities are offered for schoolchildren and families.
Attached to the center is the Águilas de Fuente Empedrada rural house, where it is possible to enjoy an ecotourism experience.
The costumes of lagarterana
Recommended time: it is only recommended to go on the day of the feast of Corpus Christi.
Special features: walk through the streets of the village visiting the altars and admiring the filigree craftsmanship and colorful costumes and embroidery of Lagartera.
More details: the origin of the festival dates back to the 15th century. Altars decorated with Lagartera embroidery are set up at the doors of the houses.
