We are committed to the environment and work towards sustainable tourism.
That is why we are taking measures in this direction. More information
In the Ruta del Mulhacén Restaurant we are committed to the conservation of biodiversity, local development and the territory of Sierra Nevada at an economic, social and environmental level since 1974. We highlight the following actions: - We have been serving the public for 50 years recovering the uses and customs of the Alpujarra gastronomy through family tradition recipes handed down by women from generation to generation. - We cultivate our own organically certified vegetable garden and supply our kitchen with products grown by local farmers. - We promote projects and activities to disseminate the history and archaeology of the Alpujarra and specifically of Pampaneira and Barranco Poqueira with CEHVAL (The Center for Historical Studies of the Lecrin Valley and the Alpujarra) and with the ALPACA Project (Alpujarra Patrimonio Campesino) who carry out archaeological activities. - We revalue the natural and cultural resources of our municipality and the Sierra Nevada destination by offering tourist information as a Sierra Nevada Information Point and recommending visits to artisan workshops and local businesses with the aim of boosting local development and promoting the economy of the area. - We support local and small-scale service providers, local farmers, such as bakers, greengrocers, fishmongers and the local meat industries of sausages, hams and wineries, generating synergies that allow them to prosper their small businesses and contribute significantly to the local economy.

The gastronomic proposal of the Ruta del Mulhacén Restaurant celebrates tradition and local high mountain agriculture. Our recipes, passed down from generation to generation by the women of the family, reflect the fusion of Andalusian, Jewish and Christian cultures.
From spoon dishes such as fennel stew to specialties such as kid in almond sauce, we offer a variety of options to satisfy every palate, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.
Desserts, inspired by Andalusian roots, such as fried milk and cinnamon and anise porridge, complete this unique experience in the picturesque setting of the villages of the Poqueira Ravine and the high peaks of the Sierra Nevada.
