La Valleja is one of the first lodgings registered in the Principality of Asturias with the category Agrotourism and since the beginning of its activity, in 1997, is linked to own farms in organic production. - For the training of its managers, workshops linked to the local agri-food activity are given to raise awareness of the importance of its sustainable management for the life of our mountain villages: cheese-making courses, canning, organic farming, etc. - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle are present in La Valleja in all possible processes and customers are informed accordingly, and this information is displayed in the common areas. - In addition, there is a large library with books about the area, guides to recognize wild species, books on geology, geography, ethnography, culture of the Picos de Europa available to customers. - We recommend routes and local guides and the consumption of local products with adequate information on restaurants and stores where you can taste or buy them. - In La Valleja we serve dinners and breakfasts elaborated mainly with our own products and KM0 - We have solar thermal panels that reduce fuel consumption and domotic management of heating - We are members of the Foundation of Ecoagroturismo.

La Valleja is an agritourism that has several farms in organic production that include forests, orchards and orchards in mid-mountain area of the Sierra del Cuera, with wildlife that includes the bearded vulture and the wolf as maximum exponents. Autumn is the time of the great splendor of fruiting both in the forests and in their related agricultural systems. It is the perfect time to observe, know, share and be part of this wildlife. We will recognize the trees, shrubs, plants and their fruits, the autumn mushrooms, as well as the species of fauna and flora associated with these ecosystems and we will understand the importance of an ecological management of these spaces and the consumption of Km0 products. And in this particular paradise is where we will carry out this experience of 3 days and 2 nights that, staying in our agritourism, includes two activities: an interpretive visit of the landscape and a workshop of recognition, collection and processing of forest products.

Otoño
Reception of guests with a sweet cider and / or natural cider made with our organic apples and accompanied by dried fruits and nuts also organic and own collection. We will propose a walk along the route of the Sanctuaries that is signposted and passes by the lodging. Dinner with our own and local products, we will talk about the environmental and social value of the local product.
Breakfast La Valleja (with 80% of own and local products.) Interpretative visit of the edible forest with recognition and collection of fruits in the farms of La Valleja and later workshop of processing of forest products. Lunch tasting of processed food and free afternoon.
After breakfast at La Valleja, customers will be given a sample basket of edible forest products as a farewell gift.
