It is the only large mammal that hibernates from five to seven months. Despite being carnivorous, it adopts an omnivorous diet, feeding on vegetables, fruits and, to a lesser extent, other animals.
From hunting in spring to gathering honey and fruits in autumn and summer, these bears deploy unique strategies for survival.

The bears, with a gestation period of 12 months, give birth to 1 to 3 cubs that emancipate at 18 months. Not all brown bears are brown in color; there is a wide variety of coat colors in the brown range.
With an extremely developed sense of smell and hearing, they compensate for their lack of visual acuity, for example, to find food. When the cold weather arrives, they look for bear dens to condition them with plant materials and begin to hibernate.
In the world of the brown bear, the bears themselves mark their territory with scratches and bites on trees to indicate that this territory belongs to them.
