Legendary historical characters

Montseny, with its ancestral forests that whisper secrets and its leaves that hide mysteries, is a place where legends intertwine with reality. Among the centenary trees, the echoes of past times resound like sighs trapped in the mist.

In the nooks and crannies of this magical landscape, legends come to life. Some are woven with threads of history: daring bandits, like the legendary Serrallonga, were born in these lands and hid among its folds for decades. Their traces still fade on the trails, like shadows that refuse to be forgotten.

But there are other stories, more subtle and enigmatic. They speak of water women, mythical creatures that emerge from the depths of rivers and streams. Their hair flows like seaweed, and their eyes reflect the moon. They are said to be guardians of the springs, protectors of the secrets that lie beneath the waters. On nights when the moon is full, they rise to the surface, their laughter and songs filling the air with an ancestral echo.

This is Montseny: a place where reality and fantasy intertwine, where trees keep their own secrets and legends awaken at nightfall. Whoever ventures into its forests, enters a world where time blurs and stories flow like crystalline streams.

The intangible cultural heritage of Montseny is the result of a project that in 2013 was recognized as a good practice by UNESCO.
