Delta Itineraries

On foot, by bicycle and on horseback

The Ebro Delta offers a network of trails that invite you to discover its natural and cultural wealth on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. These marked trails will take you through changing landscapes, from extensive rice fields to quiet lagoons, through deserted beaches and lush reed beds. Below, we highlight some proposals that you cannot miss and invite you to explore the wide range of routes and trails available in the destination.

ROUTES ON FOOT:

 

- Punta del Fangar: Hiking route in Punta del Fangar, located within the natural park of the Ebro Delta. This route, about 8.4 km long, starts at Playa de la Marquesa and leads to the iconic Fangar lighthouse, crossing beaches and coastal dunes. The hike lasts approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, is of low difficulty, without slopes and suitable for all year round. The area is known for its desert landscapes and is an important nesting place for birds such as terns and gulls. Download the ITINERARY.

 

 

- El Serrallo: Hiking route in El Serrallo in the natural park of the Ebro Delta. This circular route, 1.9 km and 45 minutes long, is easy and can be done all year round. It starts at the Eucaliptus housing development and allows you to explore areas of salt marshes, areas of saline soil frequently flooded by seawater, which conditions the vegetation and fauna. The itinerary passes through the Serrallo Beach and the El Riuet drainage, where you can observe various species of birds and learn about the salt marsh ecosystem through interpretive panels. - Els Ullals de Baltasar: Hiking route in the natural park of the Ebro Delta is a short and simple route, ideal for families. It is a circular walk of 0.9 km without slopes, which lasts approximately 30 minutes. The area stands out for its biodiversity, with flora such as the white water lily and fauna such as endangered fish, as well as being a refuge for birds such as cattle egrets. The route includes walkways, viewpoints and information panels, with strict rules to preserve the natural space. Download the ITINERARY.

BICYCLE AND HORSEBACK RIDING ROUTES:

 

- Ecomuseum - Desembocadura: 31.4 km circular cycling route from the Ecomuseum of Deltebre. This easy and accessible route through the natural park of the Ebro Delta, ideal for any time of the year, takes you through spectacular scenery, from the Ebro river promenade to the rice fields and the beach of Riumar. It crosses unique natural areas such as the salobrar del Niño Perdido, where the colors and wildlife will surprise you. In addition, you can stop at strategic viewpoints, such as the Garxal, to observe the diversity of birds. With a practically non-existent slope, you will enjoy a route that can be completed in about 5 hours. Download the ITINERARY.

 

- Amposta - Ullals de Baltasar - Casa de Fusta: 27.7 km cycling route in the natural park of the Ebro Delta, with low difficulty and suitable for all year round. It starts at the Tourist Office in Amposta and crosses the southern bank of the delta, offering views of the Ebro river and the Amposta suspension bridge. The 30-minute route continues through rice fields and the Ullals de Baltasar, a leisure area with fresh water. The route passes by hydraulic constructions up to the Encanyissada, where the Casa de Fusta is located, an information center of the park surrounded by viewpoints for bird watching. - The route of the lagoons: Cycling route of 28.8 km in the natural park of the Ebro Delta, crossing the lagoons of Encanyissada and Tancada. The circular route starts and ends at the Casa de Fusta, passing through Poblenou del Delta and various points of interest. With low difficulty, it can be covered all year round in about 4 hours.
