Integral Natural Reserve of Muniellos

Natural Park of Fuentes del Narcea, Degaña and Ibias.

Integral Natural Reserve of Muniellos

A forest where only 20 people a day can enter? And not just any forest. The Natural Reserve of Muniellos is the largest oak forest in Spain and one of the best preserved in Europe. An authentic reservoir of biodiversity.

Its hiking trails allow you to reach its main glacial valley where the 4 lagoons are located. Its rich landscape is only comparable to the rich vegetation, highlighting the characteristic lichens hanging from the trees. The "capuchin beards", which together with the presence of the Muniellos buttercup, endemic species of the reserve, are a reflection of the high degree of conservation and naturalness of this space. These are routes that demand a good physical condition from those who wish to complete them.

It is the most protected natural space in Asturias and to be able to visit it, it is necessary to obtain the entrance permit through the website asturias.es:
- The web asturias.es
- By phone: 985 27 91 00 - From Asturias: 012 free of charge

The free visit offered by the Muniellos Interpretation Center, in Oubachu / Oballo, is a great way to know the forest, its fauna and flora without the need to make a reservation and go into the forest.
