We have GRs or Grandes Recorridos, such as the trail ?Sulayr? GR-240, which allows you to go around Sierra Nevada in 19 sections along 300 km. It has complicated stages and other easier ones that run between 1,400 and 2,400 m of altitude and generally require logistical support as they are linear. The GR-7 and GR-142 open the doors of La Alpujarra, both in Granada and Almeria, through stages that pass through its beautiful villages and therefore allow you to shop, eat, spend the night and share time with the local inhabitants. The recently marked Mozarabic Way of St. James circles the Sierra Nevada on the east and north side from Almeria to Granada. In addition, in all the municipalities of the Sierra Nevada, there are local trails and small routes (PRs and SLs) adapted to various levels and needs. The hundreds of kilometers of forest trails that cross all the regions of the Sierra are the ideal place to practice Nordic walking. The paths that cross the valley of Trevélez, locally called "escarihuelas", stand out for their incredible layout, zigzagging paths, sometimes carved into the rock that almost miraculously allow you to cross the narrow valley and reach the other slope. The network of irrigation ditches, a true circulatory system that distributes life throughout the sierra, invites you, in most of its layout, to walk along the water, in the shade of the chestnut trees, carefully using the narrow maintenance paths of this ancestral hydraulic system. You don't know a mountain if you haven't walked there? says a Central European slogan, and Sierra Nevada makes it easy for you! The dense network of trails of more than 1,000 km always offers an alternative to the visitor.
