As we move away from the capital, it is true that the possibilities of public transport diminish quite a lot, as we are in a rather unpopulated area and with mountain roads, so we recommend the visit by private car. Sierra Norte de Guadalajara offers hot summers during the day, cool at night and dry, with clear skies where the stars shine. Winters are long, cold, windy and sometimes snowy.
For this reason, warm clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended, even in summer.
Both independent exploration through the well-maintained network of trails and the option of professional guides are highly recommended. These guides, local experts, offer a complete Ecotourism experience with extensive knowledge of the territory.
There is no standardized duration of the trip, it depends on your objectives. To experience the essence of the Sierra Norte, a week is recommended, but you can also plan several shorter visits of 2 or 3 days to discover the territory in part as it is very extensive and diverse.
Depending on the season we recommend:
- Hiking routes in spring when nature awakens and in autumn for its colors.
- Route of the rural Romanesque and the Silver Country: all year round.
- Route through the villages of the Black Architecture and the Golden Architecture: all year round. In addition, depending on the weather, they change their colors and the sensations that one experiences when visiting them.
- Tejera Negra beech forest: although it is true that autumn is the favorite season to visit the beech forest, it is also advisable to visit it in spring and summer when it becomes a green and cool oasis.
- Observation of the skies: all year round to enjoy the winter and summer constellations that are not the same.
- Traditional festivals such as botargas, carnivals, dancers: winter and spring.
- Gastronomy: all year round.
