Walking, cycling or horseback riding, are natural and sustainable ways to explore the more than 600 kilometers of trails that the Natural Park Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche has and get to know spectacular places. There are many and varied options that are proposed to the visitor, of routes that run along marked trails that also have digitized indications. There is also a wide range of companies that provide their experience and knowledge of both the paths and the natural and cultural gems that accompany them.
The network of trails that this destination has, allows walking through various areas of the region, allowing the walker to get an idea of the diversity of the landscape it offers. On foot, by bicycle or using the Nordi Walking technique, circular routes can be executed such as the ascent to Cerro San Cristobal, in Almonaster la Real, with medium difficulty due to the slope, or the also circular Fuente del Rey to El Rebollar, which leads from Aracena to Corteconcepción, with low difficulty. The La Barquera and La Guijarra route, in Cortelazor la Real, of medium difficulty, can also be done in this area.
In the center of the Natural Park, routes such as the Vados del Múrtiga, which runs along the river of the same name, between Castaño del Robledo and Galaroza, the Valdelama Route, in Fuenteheridos, both of low difficulty, or the Linares to Alájar, linking two spectacular villages, as well as the Sierra de Santa Ana. These last two routes are of medium difficulty.
In the north of the region there is the Ruta del Abismo, in Arroyomolinos de León, the Ruta de las Tres Encinas, in Cala, or the Ruta del Cajaco, in Cañaveral de León. All of them are of medium difficulty.
Through the plains of the valleys, climbing a mountain, entering and crossing white villages and rural hamlets, admiring the streets of the towns and their hamlets, or reaching castles and fortresses, hiking is undoubtedly the most appreciated activity in this ecotourism destination.
