GET TO KNOW THE PARK

This room offers a general idea of the values of the Natural Park, which are difficult to summarize. From learning about the orogeny of the Natural Area in an Ordovician Sea discovering fossils from this period, to the orography with its diversity of ecosystems, diverse flora and fauna and the interrelation of these with local products and gastronomy. The back of the room is occupied by elements for children, to search for wildlife on a hillside with binoculars, games, sounds and a children's interactive.

On the walls there is a summary of the various activities carried out for the conservation of this natural park: management, hunting, fishing, Natura 2000 Network, etc.

LICHENS, MOSSES AND FERNS

It gathers information about these types of plants so unknown and so present at the same time. The aim is to create an effective environment to learn about aspects of lichens, mosses and ferns.   This diversity of wetlands and vegetation gives us an important diversity of species of amphibians and reptiles that we can learn about through models and information panels.

LIVE AND DIRECT

The Natural Park of Las Batuecas-Sierra de Francia stands out, among other aspects, for the uniqueness of its landscapes and the richness of its fauna species. Through this camera you can enjoy the sighting of necrophagous species such as griffon vultures, black vultures and Egyptian vultures, as well as other species that feed on carrion such as Egyptian vultures, crows, foxes and wild boars.

At this point of the tour we will also get to know the fish species of our rivers, through the Ríncón Cipriber, with models of these species, some of them autochthonous like the Colmilleja del Alagón.

THE MEMORY CORNER

The landscape has changed greatly in the last 50 years in the Natural Park, we try to reflect it and make it understandable.

In addition, the people who live in the area are the real protagonists, some of them still maintain trades and traditions that we should know and if possible preserve. You will see how a basket maker works the chestnut tree or how different generations of a family tell us aspects of how their daily life was and is. You can also discover the two emblematic places of the Natural Park through 3D images.

AUDIOVISUAL AREA

The sierra is above all, mystery and great contrasts. The images will anticipate some of the sensations that can be experienced in the Natural Park, taking us to visit various ecosystems of this space and giving us to know the richness of its species, landscapes, festivals and traditions.

THE R.E.N. AND ANOTHER PARK VISIT US

This Natural Park is part of the Network of Natural Spaces of Castilla y León (REN), which includes places with peculiar characteristics that make them unique: some stand out especially for their relief, forests, rivers or mountains, others for their flora or fauna, and there are those that keep in their landscapes the clear imprint of a long and respectful human activity.

Here you can get to know some of these Natural Spaces and also approach the whole of the REN of Castilla y León.

TEMPORARY EXHIBITION

Every month the Casa del Parque displays on its walls exhibitions of painting, sculpture, photography, crafts, etc., which show the work of artisans and the art of local artists, as well as exhibitions of environmental themes that invite us to develop activities and games for all ages.
