A Journey to the Heart of Nature and Living History.
The park house is a building that is available to all visitors. It is located in the village of Montejo de la Vega de la Serrezuela. On your visit to the park house you can discover how the magnificent rocky canyon that has given rise to this dream place was formed. You can get all kinds of information about the different types of birds of prey, seeing the different models that exist in the house and you can even observe the tracks of the most important mammals of the natural park, without forgetting that you can learn about the great variety of flora that exists in this protected natural area.
In the Casa del Parque you can get information about everything you need for your visit. Here they will explain the different routes you can take within this Natural Park, as well as other nearby areas of great cultural or natural interest. You will find informative brochures both of the Network of Natural Spaces of Castilla y León and of this space.
By means of an audiovisual you will be able to know all the Natural Spaces of Castilla y León that compose the REN.
The geomorphological characteristics of this space, together with the climate and the type of soil, condition the flora and fauna, as well as the diverse ecosystems present in the Natural Park. Various information panels will give you an overview of this space.
In the Tunnel of Sounds, you can learn, through images, the natural and traditional values of the Park. In addition, you will enjoy the Sickles of the river Riaza driving the interactive program or watching the audiovisual.
Told first hand by the inhabitants of the village of Linares del Arroyo, submerged under the waters of the reservoir that bears his name, we can understand the processes that took place to implement this hydraulic infrastructure, all reproduced through a DVD.
In addition, several photographs show us Linares del Arroyo at its peak . On the other hand, you will have the opportunity to learn about the socioeconomic, cultural and architectural aspects of the towns that make up the Natural Park.
Did you know that birds are descended from dinosaurs?
You will learn the morphological characteristics of birds. In addition, you will see life-size reproductions of the most representative birds of this park such as the griffon vulture, Egyptian vulture, golden eagle, eagle owl and peregrine falcon.
Castilla y León is an Autonomous Community with a great natural wealth, which allows us to find an important set of Natural Spaces with unique characteristics.
To bring you closer to each of them, we have a traveling exhibition consisting of information panels, an interactive program and an audiovisual.
Within this natural park deserves special mention the Griffon Vulture colony, one of the largest in Europe. These large scavenger birds fly over our fields looking for food.
To learn more about this species, which inhabits the limestone rocks that form these gorges, you can operate a real-time camera placed in one of their nests.
A 15-minute video is shown periodically. The general characteristics of the area, the inhabitants, the daily life in the surroundings, the fauna and flora, etc, are reviewed in this video so that nothing is overlooked.
