What to see at any time of the year
- Winter: With snow you can slide down the slopes of the small and familiar ski resort of Leitariegos or undertake great snowshoeing routes. It is the best time to see the Iberian wolf or enjoy the generous pots of cabbage made with local and homemade products.
- Spring: From April to June, with the wonderful nature in full bloom, it is the season to observe the brown bear, to walk among flowers and birds and also to participate in some of the many activities offered by our Festival of Ecotourism in Danger of Extinction.
- Summer: Our region has an inland climate, with less rainfall than the rest of Asturias. Temperatures can be around 30 degrees but there is a large network of rivers and pools where you can cool off and enjoy crystal clear waters. It is also the time of festivals and celebrations among which highlights the "Descarga" held in Cangas del Narcea.
- Autumn: As this is a wine-producing region, it is not surprising that autumn starts here with the grape harvest festivities. But in addition, lovers of photography and exciting landscapes will enjoy forests tinged with ochre, orange and red.
