This itinerary runs through the municipalities starting in Pedrafita do Cebreiro and ending in As Nogais, both municipalities along the A-6. .Start your adventure in Pedrafita do Cebreiro, where the miracle of the Holy Grail and the pallozas transport you to the past. Continue to Piornedo de Cervantes, home to unique mountain landscapes, where you can still meet the last transhumant shepherds of Galicia, taste the meat they produce or learn what life was like in a palloza. In Becerreá, where the Kunig Way connects with the history of the German monk, you can win the Jubilee in San Pedro de Cadolla, get lost in the Bosque de Os Grobos, a movie set, or visit the Cistercian monastery of Penamaior. Walk through enchanting river landscapes on your way to Navia de Suarna. Discover in an audio-guided itinerary, the beautiful village of A Proba de Navia, which will take you to the quiet atmosphere of a mountain village, where you run the risk of falling in love with the place and not wanting to leave.
Following the course of the Navia River, towards Negueira de Muñiz, you will enter the lands of the IGP Ribera del Navia wines, where you can visit the wineries, a honey ecomuseum and enjoy an indescribable landscape in your ascent to A Fonsagrada where you will find a village full of life, with a beautiful church in the center and the ethnographic museum. At 15 minutes by car and 1 km on foot, you will find one of the most emblematic waterfalls of Galicia "a Seimiera de Vilagocende". You can taste or buy local products that will surprise you.
In the middle of your route you will go to places with great natural wealth as Ribeira de Piquín where you can enjoy a riverside town hall, the magnificent trout of the Eo, refresh yourself in delicious river areas, stroll along the river or the impressive viewpoint of Barangón. Continue to A Pontenova that delights lovers of hiking and adventure, you can go through the tunnels of the old mines, follow the course of the river on foot, by bike, kayak, quad or launch yourself down one of the most impressive zip lines in Galicia.
On the 5th day of the itinerary you will reach Meira where you can visit the 12th century Cistercian monastery, visit the source of the river Miño in Pedregal de Irimia or buy local products at the fair held every other Sunday; in the neighboring municipality of Pol you can enjoy a recreational area in a carballeira or visit the peculiar chapel of as Neves. In Casa Chain de Pol you can book a workshop to learn about the process of making traditional bread and other products in a wood-fired oven.
On the penultimate day Baleira awaits you with its fluvial spaces such as the area of A Cortevella and numerous hiking trails. In the place of Esgrade is preserved the peculiar Pousada do Boieiro, was a place of stop and rest for walkers of yesteryear and is preserved in all its splendor, which will take you to the way of life of a hundred years ago. We continue on our way to Baralla where we will find a beautiful recreational area next to the Neira River and a riverside promenade ideal for walking and relaxing with the sound of the river and the surrounding nature.
From Baralla you will head to Láncara to enjoy the last day of your route. You can visit the museum of agricultural locomotion MUVICLA, its fluvial areas or the house museum where Fidel Castro's father was born. From Láncara you will head to the valley of Torés in As Nogais to visit the fortress and its surroundings formed by a castro and a church, which you can enjoy accompanied by an audio guide.On your way back to the A6 you can enjoy the Navia River as it passes through the village of As Nogais and the Doncos Tower and its impressive viewpoint.
