A linguistic journey full of smiles, surprises and authenticity.

Would you like to immerse yourself in the fascinating mystery surrounding Euskera, the Basque language? Over the centuries, this language has baffled linguists and experts, leaving a trail of uncertainty about its real origin.

From theories suggesting connections with Caucasian languages to the influence of geographical isolation due to the complex Basque orography, Basque is still presented today as a linguistic enigma that has stood the test of time. Is it so difficult to learn to speak Basque? More difficult than German?

Your trip to the Basque Coast Geopark can be a very good opportunity to sharpen your ear, learn about the different theories about the origin of the Basque language and, of course, to learn some words in this unique and ancestral language. We propose a guided tour through different corners of Zumaia, in which you will be able to make a pleasant immersion in the Basque culture, with the Basque language as a common thread.

We guarantee you smiles and surprises, and as it could not be otherwise in Euskadi, we will finish the visit with a good taste in your mouth, having a drink and a snack in a very, very authentic place. There is no exam and you will not return home with a B1 level of Basque, but with some basic notions and idiomatic connections that will surprise you, and that you will be able to use during your trip through our land.

We are sure that the inhabitants of the Geopark and of Euskadi in general will appreciate and value this nice gesture towards our language and culture. After all, it is the Basque language that makes us Basques, so do you feel like having a good time learning some curiosities about one of the oldest languages in Europe?
