Our ecotourism commitment:

- In this experience, we show the importance of agriculture as the basis of any civilization and society, and therefore the importance it has had and continues to have for the organizations that comprise it. We also see how we have gone from producing food locally, self-sufficiently, and nutritiously, to importing almost everything and growing it using production models that result in low nutritional density. Here we explain how plants in a balanced ecosystem give their best, producing larger, more nutritious crops with little incidence of pests. (Edible Forest).

- At PlatanoLógico, we show you how the Canary Islanders have managed to produce one of the most emblematic and beloved fruits in our country on a volcano. In a land
blessed with soil, water, and climate, at a crossroads between continents and cultures, with respect for nature, we are able to produce delicacies throughout the year in an agroecological way, regenerating the local ecosystem.

- Historical crops have been grown in the Canary Islands, but right now, the number of banana farmers is declining at a terrible rate due to the pandemic and then the volcano, and the return on investment, especially (sometimes not even covering costs), is leading to this situation of abandonment, with insufficient generational renewal. However, we eat every day... One of the missions of our project is to show clear ways to generate dignified, nutritious, and resilient agriculture, fixing the population to the land. As we say at PlatanoLógico, we spend the same as conventional farmers to produce a kilo of fruit, but the difference is that we leave the wealth in the environment because we need manure and materials from animals and other local farms, and we also require more labor. so we don't pay for products from petrochemical and pharmaceutical corporations in order to produce. As a result, the plantations increase their biodiversity year after year, their soils are filled with life, and the island's environment is restored.

- Groups are small, so comments and questions are answered, and close contact enhances the quality of the experience.

Smell, feel, learn, taste.

In Puerto Naos, in the heart of the La Palma World Biosphere Reserve, we invite you to enjoy an authentic ecotourism experience centered around the Canary Island banana, where the land, the people, and knowledge come together.

Walking along the trails of Ecofinca PlatanoLógico, you will discover a mosaic of biodiversity: banana trees, fruit trees, medicinal plants, and vegetable gardens that interact with the volcanic landscape and the ocean. Here, everything is grown with respect: without chemicals, using our own compost, conserving water, and promoting soil life. The guide, Fran, shares with passion and warmth an inspiring vision of agroecology as a way of life, uniting tradition and the future.

You will discover the secrets of a food that we eat quite often. Where it came from, how it reproduces, what influences its proper growth, how it is handled, and the work that goes into each of the bananas of the Canary Islands, from the beginning of their life until they become part of your table and, therefore, your body.

This experience is designed for conscious travelers, for ecotourists who seek to connect with the local and the authentic, and to understand how sustainability is built from the ground up. Each visitor participates, observes, touches, asks questions, and learns: not as a spectator, but as part of a living system.

La Palma, with its network of protected natural areas, is an example of the balance between conservation and rural development. In this context, our farm acts as a laboratory for good ecological practices, a space for learning and enjoyment where every step reinforces the value of what is local, sustainable, and regenerative.

At the end of the visit, you will take away more than just an image or a tasting: you will feel that you have been part of a place that cares for its identity, its people, and its environment. An experience that leaves its mark, not because of what is consumed, but because of what is understood.

- Exclusive immersion in the plantation on the edge of the beach, consisting of a short interpretive walk with stops (there are benches to sit on during the explanations). With a simple and clear introduction on the importance of biodiversity, the tour begins with an explanation of the importance of soil as a fundamental part of any forest and, therefore, any agricultural system. We continue with the banana plantation, its history, management, and interesting facts. This is when we open up the plant to understand more about its curious physiology and touch its tissues and parts, photosynthesis, nutrition, and healthy habits. The curiosity of those present leads to questions and more constructive interaction.

- Small tasting of bananas and other fruits from the farm (depending on the season) and herbal tea from the farm, which is made in our solar kitchens.

- Motivation to take care of ourselves and the planet.
