When is the best time to visit Cabañeros?

Autumn: The colors of the landscape are transformed into yellows, oranges, reds and ochers. Season of rutting deer and great mycological richness. In November the cranes arrive. Ideal time for photographing the landscapes and hiking trails.
Winter: Clear skies. Impressive sunrises. In elevated areas the landscape turns white due to frost and snowy fogs offering serene landscapes acquiring a unique atmosphere.
Spring: Time to enjoy the flowering and the explosion of colors in the park. The arrival and breeding period of various species of migratory birds begins.
Summer: Summers are hot and the mountain ranges and humid enclaves provide a cool environment compared to other areas. Sunrises and nights with clear skies are ideal for astro-tourism.

Is it necessary to reserve visits?

The trails can be walked freely or with a guide, whose experience is more complete. In some cases they can be walked free of charge with guides who are interpreters of the National Park's heritage. To do so, you should contact one of the information points or town halls in the area.

The 4x4 routes within the National Park are guided and require prior reservation. These services are provided through a private company concessioned by the National Park.

Where to stay?

There is a wide range of rural houses, hotels and campsites in the towns surrounding the park. Although the supply of hotels and hostels is limited, there are rural houses that rent out rooms.

Where to eat?

There are limited restaurants in Cabañeros, so it is recommended that you make reservations before your trip. It is advisable to try traditional dishes such as gachas, migas and asadillo or game meat in venison and wild boar stews, typical of the area.
