Charming villages

Discover its people and traditions

Montseny, located between the provinces of Barcelona and Girona, is a place that captivates lovers of nature and tranquility. In addition to its impressive mountain scenery and lush forests, this natural park is home to several charming villages.

- Arbúcies: Nestled in a valley caressed by rivers and streams, Arbúcies is a gift of nature. Its landscapes, like brushstrokes of color, caught the imagination of the painter Santiago Rusiñol and were captured on his canvases. On top of a hill, like a guardian of legends, stands the Castle of Montsoriu. Its stones, steeped in centuries of stories and secrets, transport us to a time of knights and ladies, of intrigues and exploits.

- El Brull: Here, where the Plana de Vic meets the majestic Montseny massif, the whispers of the past echo among the stones. This village, like an ancient relic, houses archaeological sites that tell stories of forgotten civilizations. But it is the Iberian wall of Montgròs that takes our breath away: its stones, worn by time, still hold the echo of ancient battles and ancestral secrets. The routes that wind from the village take us through mysterious forests and golden meadows, revealing breathtaking panoramic views.

- Fogars de Montclús Its nuclei (Mosqueroles, La Costa and Santa Fe) awaken like an ancient sigh, its farmhouses scattered like forgotten jewels in the lap of the Montseny. Here, where the stones still keep the warmth of the chimneys and the echoes of freshly baked bread, the ancestral essence intertwines with the perfumed breeze of the forests. Each farmhouse, with its entrance worn by centuries of welcomes and farewells, is a poem of wood and stone. Its surroundings, a tapestry of unique trees and a beech forest that seems to breathe in a natural space of great beauty.

- Gualba: In the heart of Montseny, where the whispers of nature intertwine with the echoes of ancient legends, is the stream that splits the term. Like an ethereal dancer, it meanders between the steep slopes of the peaks, its crystalline water caressing the stones and the secrets that lie hidden in its bed. Gualba, caressed by the pen of writers and the passion of hikers, keeps its secrets in whispers.

- Hostalric: In the hidden corners of memory, Hostalric emerges as a magical place, a place where time blurs and the stones speak. At the majestic feet of the Montseny massif, this village has witnessed centuries of history, a strategic epicenter that has seen kings, knights and poets.
With its walls, every stone, every moat, is a chronicle of bravery and survival. Its towers, rising to the sky, seem to sigh secrets of other times.

- Montseny: It is the village that has given its name to the whole massif. Its steep slopes, covered with ancient forests, keep the echoes of shepherds and the sighs of lovers. In every stone, in every corner, you can feel the history of a town that was a farmer, livestock farmer and guardian of the trees. And now, in the "Museu de les Esquelles", the souls of a thousand cowbells are intertwined, remembering those who left and those who remained. Here, in this corner of the mountain, time fades and renews itself, like the leaves that fall and sprout in every season.

- Sant Esteve de Palautordera: The municipality, as a lover of the arts, hosts events of the first order. The Circ Cric Festival is an acrobatic jump that makes us dream, as if we were on the trapeze of life. And the Ball de Gitanes, with its graceful movements, transports us to ancestral times, when dance was a prayer and a ritual.

- Seva Between the hills and the whispers of the wind, lies this charming village, a canvas of stone and nostalgia. Its streets, like ancient veins, carry with them the echoes of centuries past, and at every corner, the buildings harbor Gothic and Romanesque secrets. And in the heart of this village, like a beacon of history, stands the bell tower of the church of Santa Maria. Its bricks, stacked with precision, rise almost 27 meters into the sky. The bells, like ancestral voices, ring out the time, calling for reflection and contemplation.

- Taradell. On the slopes of Montseny, where the sun caresses the fields, stands a flowery village, like a dream woven by nature. Its agricultural roots go deep into the ancestral land, and the walls of its churches, castles and towers keep secrets whispered in the medieval era. Since time immemorial, this corner has become a summer retreat. The proposals that flourish here are impregnated with the scent of herbs - such as lavender - as if each dish carried with it the very essence of the land.
