Bosques del Sur, the Great Trail of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas.

The Sendero Bosques del Sur - GR 247 is the largest circular hiking route, which will connect with emblematic areas of this Biosphere Reserve located in the northeast of the province of Jaén.

A unique opportunity to know in depth not only its flora and fauna, but also its towns and villages, its gastronomy and its people, in the largest natural area of Spain, the Natural Park of Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas.

 

 

 

It offers 478 signposted kilometers, along 21 main stages and 11 diversions. It also has 3 variants, each with two sections, -identified with the letter "v" on the map- that will help you to subdivide the route, and make a version adapted to your interests and the time available to complete it.

 

 

 

The route will take you to the headwaters of the Guadalquivir and Segura rivers, will take you through the mosaic of landscapes of this mountain range: high mountain peaks, castles, forests, rivers and waterfalls, traditional roads, high plateaus, towns and villages still inhabited, historical sites, olive groves and orchards.

A great way to discover the flight of the bearded vulture, the cleanest waters, the conversation with the transhumant shepherds, the way of life in the mountain villages..., a collection of experiences and the authenticity of the most extensive mountain ranges of Andalusia, await you at the edge of this road.
