We are committed to the environment and work towards sustainable tourism.
That is why we are taking measures in this direction. More information
At Casa Quiñones, we are committed to biodiversity conservation and local development in Navia de Suarna, within the Os Ancares Lucenses Biosphere Reserve. We are a handcrafted, artisanal rural guesthouse, designed for experiencing the mountains of Lugo, Asturias, and León while respecting the environment.
1. Nature and Agritourism: We are advocates for rural life and strive for self-sufficiency. Therefore, we invite you to visit our organic garden and experience rural ecotourism and agritourism. Our production aims to be self-sufficient through agroecology and permaculture, working with, not against, nature.
2. Commitment to the Region: We belong to the Fourth World Association, which combats rural depopulation, and we see accommodation as a way to strengthen life in rural areas. We also have resources about Ancares and Terras do Burón and advise guests on visits, places of interest, and experiences such as stargazing, birdwatching, and nature photography.
3. Best Practices and Management: We have a consumption monitoring system, implement water-saving and energy-efficient measures, and power the accommodation with renewable energy and biomass. We also properly manage special waste, reduce single-use plastics, and have a protocol in place to detect and resolve facility malfunctions.
4. Local Development: We prioritize local suppliers and purchase products locally for our on-demand offerings, strengthening the local economy. We also inform guests about local businesses, products, and attractions, and collaborate with local restaurants and ecotourism tour operators.
