At Casa Rural Águilas de Fuente Empedrada, we are committed to biodiversity conservation and local development in Llanos de Oropesa, Lagartera, and Calera y Chozas.
Our rural guesthouse is located on a property linked to the Aquila Foundation's raptor aviary, where we combine accommodation, environmental education, and direct support for conservation programs for endangered birds. We also take advantage of your stay to share the values ??of the Natura 2000 Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) and introduce our guests to the interpretation of the local area.
1. Conservation and Environmental Education
On our property, we develop research and conservation programs for endangered birds in collaboration with the Aquila Foundation.
We have an interpretive exhibit, "The Heart of the Eagle," and life-size models of raptors made from recycled paper, which help visitors better understand the relationship between these birds and humanity.
We also have a dedicated space in the reception area to promote the values ??of the Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) and the Natura 2000 Network.
2. Responsible Accommodation Management
We operate on an autonomous photovoltaic solar energy system, and we inform our guests about its responsible use.
We implement selective waste separation and maintain the garden and outdoor space replanted with native species such as cork oaks, stone pines, holm oaks, and ash trees.
3. Local Development and Scientific Ecotourism
When we offer breakfast, we work with local suppliers, strengthening the local economy and reducing unnecessary travel.
In addition, we give guests the opportunity to participate in scientific ecotourism experiences, make donations to the conservation programs they visit, and purchase merchandise related to these projects.
