Our ecotourism commitment:

At Casa Rural Las Lucías, we are committed to biodiversity conservation and local development in Navatrasierra, in the heart of the Guadarranque Valley, within the Villuercas-Ibores-Jara UNESCO Global Geopark. Our accommodation is located on a rural estate with dark skies free from light pollution, surrounded by laurel forests and abundant biodiversity. Here, we combine organic farm life with ecotourism and birdwatching experiences for those seeking nature, tranquility, and stargazing.

1. Bio-agritourism and Native Breeds
On our small farm, we follow organic principles and raise native breeds such as Villuercas Merino sheep and Serrana goats, as well as dairy cows, donkeys, a horse, and chickens that roam freely around the property, contributing to the preservation of agricultural landscapes and traditional livestock breeds.

We offer our guests the opportunity to participate in simple farm tasks, experiencing rural ways of life based on respect for animals and the cycles of nature.

The farm is designed as a bio-agritourism space, integrating accommodation, organic production, and environmental education in one place.

2. Wildlife Observation, Dark Skies, and Conservation Support
At Las Lucías, we promote wildlife and bird watching through photographic hides and birding routes, taking advantage of the enormous biodiversity of the Guadarranque Valley and the Villuercas Mountains.
The "Photo Hide Birding" package includes accommodation, breakfasts with fair trade products and produce from our farm, and a session in a hide. A portion of the cost is donated to the AMUS Wildlife Hospital, directly linking the tourism experience with conservation. Located in an environment free of light pollution, we invite you to enjoy the starry sky and understand the value of this natural resource for both wildlife and people.

3. Ecotourism in the Geopark and Local Development
Our accommodation serves as a base for exploring the Villuercas-Ibores-Jara Geopark through nature activities, cycling, and guided excursions, promoting low-impact tourism that spreads visits throughout the year. We recommend nearby attractions such as the fossil exhibition at the Navatrasierra Fossil Interpretation Center and other experiences within the geopark, helping to enhance the cultural and scientific offerings of the region. By offering ecotourism and agritourism experiences and collaborating with regional initiatives promoting nature in Extremadura, we contribute to retaining the local population and supporting the local economy through activities linked to landscape conservation.
