From the beginning, the current nursery of Vega de Ario Refuge had a very clear work methodology: cause the least environmental impact on the environment, promote local consumption and collaborate with local agents in the informative promotion of customs. – We are part of the Association of Refugios de Picos de Europa y Cordillera Cantábrica since 2010, with which we work actively in the improvement of the refuges and their surroundings.

– We built a dry toilet and reduced waste to the septic tank.

– We prioritize the purchase and consumption of local and ecological products.

Booking conditions

Refugio Vega de Ario is located in the National Park of Picos de Europa, due to this circumstance we would like to give you some advice and rules of environmental behavior:
- The collection of specimens or natural materials is not allowed.
- Avoid disturbing wildlife and livestock.
- If there are trails, always walk on them.
- Do not feed wildlife.
- The waste generated will be taken to the containers where the garbage truck arrives.
- It is forbidden to bathe in rivers, lakes and lagoons.
- It is forbidden to paint or make inscriptions on rocks and trees.
- No fires are allowed.
- Dogs and other domestic animals must be properly leashed to avoid disturbing livestock and wildlife.
- Livestock gates that are in the way must be left closed.
- The quality of the park's water sources is not subject to periodic sanitary control, so it is not possible to guarantee their potability.

REFUGE INFORMATION
The Vega de Ario Refuge suffers from drought during the months of July and August, it is possible that the shower service will be closed. Dinner is at 20h, please be there one hour before to check in. The shower closes at 19:30. The use of the bathroom is only for people staying at the refuge. The sleeping bag is obligatory. In the refuge we have comforters, pillows and rest shoes. Electronic devices may not be charged in the absence of sunlight. Credit cards are not accepted. Do not forget to enter the license plate of the vehicle with which you access the Lagos de Covadonga. In case you are unable to come to the refuge, please let us know, to avoid worries. Do not forget to mention allergies or if it is a vegetarian or vegan menu, if you forgot please write an email to info@refugiovegadeario.es.
This is a reservation of place and services, the remaining payment is made at the refuge.
Cancellation policy:
-7 days before your reservation : you can modify the date of your reservation, subject to availability or request cancellation and refund of 100% of the reservation, minus 3€ management fees.
-6 days before your reservation : no refund will be given, and no changes can be made.
-If no notice of cancellation is given between the same day of the reservation and 6 days before, the remaining 100% of the reservation may be charged.
To make your cancellations, you must write an email to info@refugiovegadeario.es in the subject write CANCELLATION. Do not forget to put your account number to make the refund.
Weather conditions are not a reason for refunding the deposit.
