We are committed to the environment and work towards sustainable tourism.
That is why we are taking measures in this direction. More information
- With this activity, we respectfully and with special permission, showcase the exclusion zone of the 2021 Tajogaite volcano eruption, located within the Cumbre Vieja Natural Park.
- The activity is designed for small groups and avoids more sensitive areas, contributing to the conservation of a unique environment covered by recent volcanic ash and untouched by human footprints, minimizing negative impacts on the environment.
- Our local guides have been trained by volcanologists and interpret the volcanic environment not only from the destructive side, but also from the positive side of the creation of new landscapes and the importance of their conservation, thus helping to spread a positive image for ecotourism on the island.
- Part of the income generated by the route goes directly to the conservation of the Cumbre Vieja protected natural area.
- We support the local economy by working with taxis in El Paso, which take us up and down to the starting point of the route, and by encouraging our customers to spend locally in the cafes, bars, and local craft shops in El Paso.

Solidified lava flows, colorful patterns, strange landscapes... this and much more emerged from the latest volcanic eruption on La Palma, that of the Tajogaite Volcano. With special permission and accompanied by one of our trained and passionate guides, we entered the exclusion zone of the "Llano del Jable" in the Cumbre Vieja Natural Park, always walking within the limits of the trail, thus helping to preserve a unique landscape. Together we will see the youngest land in Spain, created by the volcanic eruption of La Palma in 2021, and admire the power of nature.
Our tour begins at the oldest historically documented volcano on the island and takes us through the Llano del Jable area with its gentle ups and downs. The landscape is marked by thick layers of ash. The green of the Canary Island pines and the often blue sky create great color contrasts on the black plain. After a few minutes of walking, we will catch our first glimpse of the eastern side of the sulfur-covered cone. The guide, accompanied by powerful images, will transport you back to the moment of the eruption, telling you about his own experiences, the far-reaching effects of the volcanic eruption on the island, and the current situation. Together we will marvel at the energy of the new volcano in Cumbre Vieja and the mystical landscape that was created here in less than three months.
From a viewpoint located just 40 meters away from the craters (only volcanologists can get closer), we will observe the still-smoking remains of the cone, which are covered with mineral deposits in a wide variety of colors, and you will be able to take incredible photographs without interfering with the landscape. From the craters, we will return via the old Cabeza de Vaca forest track, which offers spectacular views of the green Aridane Valley and the Caldera de Taburiente. The return route has two steep sections that can be exhausting in the summer sun.
