Park house located on the south side of the park
In the Sierra de Gredos Regional Park there are two park houses that serve as points of attention for visitors, offering all the necessary information regarding the park and helping to plan the different activities that are available.
A welcoming space where a monitor informs you about different aspects of the Regional Park and helps you plan your visit. In the visitor's corner you can sit comfortably and consult a map. In addition, you can watch some films that summarize the main values of the Park, and also purchase books and objects related to the Network of Natural Spaces of Castilla y León.
Here you can get information about the general characteristics of the Regional Park, thanks to an ideal itinerary that, starting from the Tiétar valley, crosses the entire Sierra, from south to north, up to the Tormes valley.
You have some interactive elements to get closer to the information you are most interested in: a computer point where you can obtain data of all kinds about the Park, a scent bank of some of the plants of the Sierra, a climbing wall for the youngest, a system of lights and buttons to learn about the species of the high mountain ecosystems, and a game that invites you to identify the birds of prey that fly over the room.
Audiovisual show which shows the enormous animal and plant wealth of the Sierra, and how it has influenced its character as a cool and humid island in the middle of the plateau. Synchronized with the show, photographs of the most representative animals and plants are illuminated on the walls of the room.
A place where you can get closer to the traditions and stories of the inhabitants of the Sierra, a priceless heritage that must be preserved. You can see photographs of all the municipalities of the Park, and also vintage images, where you can see some of the many traditional trades, and a collection of different tools and implements, among which stand out those used for the resin-coating of pine trees.
Other elements present are two models of traditional houses, one from the northern slope and the other from the southern slope. We also suggest you listen to the narrations of some of the popular legends of the Sierra, as well as enjoy its "Historical Photo Library", in an interesting collection of photographic documents of people, landscapes and moments that are part of the heritage of its people.
