We are committed to the environment and work towards sustainable tourism.
That is why we are taking measures in this direction. More information
At La Huertica, we work to preserve and share a way of life rooted in traditional vegetable gardening, family farming, and the authentic flavors of the region. Our project stems from several generations connected to the land and aims to offer visitors a sensory experience grounded in memory, natural produce, and respect for the rhythms of the countryside.
- We maintain a small family garden cultivated using traditional knowledge passed down from generation to generation.
- We are committed to small-scale, locally-focused agriculture, highlighting
traditional varieties and the region’s authentic flavors.
- We work to recover and conserve heirloom seeds and traditional citrus varieties through grafting and agricultural preservation techniques.
- During the experiences, we explain the evolution of crops and conduct comparative tastings between traditional and modern varieties to raise awareness about the loss of agricultural biodiversity.
- The farm operates without a conventional electrical connection, using solar lighting and solar-powered water extraction systems.
- The construction and orientation of the spaces follow traditional and bioclimatic principles to naturally optimize temperature and comfort.
- We reuse materials and minimize waste, giving a second life to the small amount of plastic used in the garden’s operations.
- Organic waste is used as animal feed, and other waste is reused or managed responsibly.

In this sensory experience, you’ll immerse yourself in a traditional Murcian orchard through a tour designed to connect you with nature, the flavors, and the history of the region.
Surrounded by citrus trees, aromatic plants, and the sound of water, you’ll discover a living agricultural landscape that has been shaped over centuries by the Segura River and the knowledge of generations of farmers.
The experience, guided by Macu, begins with a moment of mindful relaxation among aromatic plants, inviting you to slow down and connect with the environment through your senses.
Next, you’ll take an ethnobotanical walk through the estate where you’ll learn about wildflowers, medicinal plants, butterflies, and other small inhabitants of the orchard, gaining an understanding of the relationship between biodiversity, agriculture, and the landscape.
During the tour, you’ll discover the history of the traditional irrigation system and the importance of the irrigation ditches and waterwheels that, since the Al-Andalus period, transformed this land into a veritable orchard. You’ll also learn how the sustainable use of water has been key to maintaining the fertility and vitality of the orchard over the centuries.
The experience continues among citrus and fruit trees, picking fresh fruit directly from the orchard to later enjoy in a small tasting of seasonal flavors.
The day concludes with the preparation and tasting of homemade lemonade and freshly squeezed juice, highlighting local produce and the direct connection between the land and the table.
