Villuercas-Ibores-Jara is an area of mountains and valleys recognized by UNESCO for the international value of its geological heritage. It highlights the apalachense relief, which began to form about 300 million years ago by folding materials that hid the oldest fossils in the history of the Earth.
But this destination is not only a place for connoisseurs, interpretation centers, routes and guides explain this unique and spectacular landscape to the non-expert visitor.
In addition, the region has monumental sites such as the Royal Monastery of Guadalupe, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, numerous oak and chestnut forests, crags that are home to numerous species of birds and gastronomic delicacies with designation of origin, game meats and the excellent black pudding of Guadalupe.
