The climate in this territory is continental Mediterranean, which, being in a mountainous area, offers favorable variants, such as lower temperatures than in coastal areas, particularly in the area between Aracena and Cortegana, whose mountains exert a barrier effect against the warm and humid winds that penetrate from the Atlantic Ocean. This allows this region to have pleasant summers and winters where the thermometer does not drop below zero degrees Celsius.
There are two main climatic zones: the central zone, where there is more rainfall and higher humidity and lower temperatures, because it also has a higher altitude, and the peripheral zone, with higher temperatures and less abundant rainfall, combined with a gentler relief.
These precipitations are concentrated in autumn, winter and part of spring. In summer it is practically non-existent. Summer temperatures range from an average of 28º in the central zone to 32º in the periphery, while in winter they average between 8º and 13º.
In summer, autumn and winter, it is easy to find fog banks at dawn.
