That is why we are taking measures in this direction. More information
At Amare Turismo Nautico we are committed to the preservation of the environment and the promotion of responsible ecotourism. The "Senda Verdeazul hacia Santiago" route offers a unique experience that combines history, nature and spirituality, incorporating concrete actions to actively contribute to the conservation of the environment. These include environmental education, the use of low-impact boats, the promotion of sustainable practices, waste reduction and the promotion of responsible ecotourism. In doing so, we seek to ensure that our visitors enjoy the beauty and biodiversity of the Ría de Arousa, Cortegada Island and the Ulla River, while supporting their conservation for future generations.
1. Environmental education and awareness
Each stage of the route is designed to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and biodiversity. On the guided visit to Cortegada Island, participants learn about the native flora and fauna. During the crossing of the Ulla River, the history and spiritual value of the route is highlighted, encouraging a greater commitment to the natural and cultural heritage.
2. Use of low-impact boats
We use boats with efficient engines that minimize emissions and impact on ecosystems. Strict navigation protocols are followed to protect sensitive areas such as Cortegada Island and the Ulla River, ensuring a respectful experience with the environment and the cultural context of the place.
3. Promotion of sustainable practices
We encourage respect for natural cycles and the responsible use of resources. Through direct experience, participants understand the value of conserving both the ecosystems and the historical and spiritual sites they visit.
4. Waste reduction
We apply a "leave no trace" policy in all our outings. The use of recyclable and biodegradable materials is promoted, and visitors are encouraged to bring reusable bottles and avoid single-use plastics. All waste generated is properly managed.
5. Promoting responsible ecotourism
We promote a tourism model that supports sustainable development. We involve local communities and visitors in the protection of the environment, generating tourism that, in turn, strengthens conservation. At the end of the route, participants can disembark at the port of Pontecesures to continue their pilgrimage to Santiago, promoting cultural and sustainable tourism.
6. Small groups
The route is designed for an intimate experience in contact with nature. Groups of between 10 and 24 people guarantee a personalized experience with low environmental impact.
7. Personalized activities
We have local guides who offer a close and educational treatment. This encourages interaction, deep learning and a greater awareness of the conservation of the environment.
These actions reflect our commitment to nature and our responsibility as tour operators. We invite all ecotourists to join this unique experience, which seeks to leave a positive footprint on the environment and on those who visit it.

Discover the harmony between history, nature and spirituality with our "Senda Verdeazul towards Santiago". Start of the Adventure: Port of Carril Our journey begins in the small fishing port of Carril, where we will embark to head towards the magical island of Cortegada, part of the Maritime-Terrestrial National Park of the Atlantic Islands, known for its unique laurel forests in Europe and its rich and varied biodiversity. Guided tour in Cortegada Accompanied by expert guides in the history and natural environment of the island, we will explore Cortegada through an interpretative tour. We will discover its native fauna and flora, learn about conservation efforts and hear fascinating stories about the island's ancient inhabitants. During the tour, we will make stops at emblematic places such as the old cruceiro and the hermitage of the Virgin of Miracles, sites steeped in history and spirituality that will transport you back in time, or at the old village, a sample of the life of the settlers on the island. Our guides will not only share knowledge about the flora and fauna, but also stories about the culture and architecture that give life to the island. These points of interest offer a unique insight into the rich cultural and religious heritage of Cortegada, making this visit a complete and unforgettable experience. Navigation on the Ulla River: Apostle Santiago's Crossing After exploring Cortegada, we will continue our adventure by navigating the Ulla River, following the historic route of the remains of the Apostle Santiago. This crossing not only offers breathtaking scenery, but is also steeped in deep spiritual and cultural significance. As we sail, our guides will share the rich history of this route, explaining its religious importance and the legends that have passed from generation to generation. Final Destination: Port of Pontecesures or Return to Carril Our route has two possible final destinations, depending on the preferences of the group.
