Walk through the mist and among the ancient trees of Garajonay as you discover the living history of one of Europe’s oldest and most fascinating forests.
I’m Anahí, a local guide specializing in low- and mid-mountain hikes on La Gomera. I’ll accompany you as you explore the ancient Garajonay forest in an intimate, authentic way, tailored to your pace.
During this hiking tour, we’ll explore some of the most distinctive trails in the laurisilva, a unique forest that is part of La Gomera’s natural identity. As we make our way along the trail, we’ll observe the flora and fauna characteristic of this ecosystem, as well as the landscape features that help us understand its origin and evolution.
Throughout the hike, I’ll share information about the area’s history, the traditional ways of life connected to the forest, and the relationship the island’s people have maintained with this environment over generations.
This tour is designed to let you enjoy hiking at a leisurely pace, respecting each participant’s rhythm and fostering a peaceful connection with nature. It’s not just about walking a trail, but about having an experience that allows you to better understand the area while enjoying one of Europe’s most unique forests.
Everyone discovers Garajonay in a different way. My role is to accompany you along the way, help you notice the details that make this place special, and share with you the knowledge and experiences that are part of La Gomera’s natural and cultural history.
