Routes through the sierra full of nature and life
This is one of the oldest trails that supported the passage of local livestock in search of fresh pastures. On the route you will be able to observe the amazing Macizo Central de Gredos and the great contrasts between its north and south face. The ascent along the northern slope takes you to the Garganta de la Covacha that joins the Garganta del Prado Puerto to give rise to the Garganta de Barbellido.
Along the way you will see the Laguna del Cura, of glacial origin. On the way down the southern slope you will find a rocky area and the Seca and Reseca del Espaldar de los Galayos channels. The path on the southern slope is a steep zig-zag descent along the cobblestone path. Further down the path we will see a pine forest of resin pines next to the river Cantos.

This pass was one of the historic passes used in the past and was once subject to tolls. Here the mountain is comfortable to walk along its paths and trails that are not too steep. This path has always been used to communicate the Tormes Valley from Navarredonda de Gredos, with the Tiétar Valley through the village of El Arenal. The trail begins in a forest of wild pines, which will give way to the piornos, heather and meadows of height. During the tour we will be very close to Fuente Tormellas where the river Tormes is born.

This is a route through the Eastern Massif, which from the Puerto del Pico takes us to the peak of Torozo. From the summit we can see the "Barranco de las Cinco Villas". The ascent path runs through pines, adjacent to Scots pine forests. Towards the south, you will observe ancestral terraces that characterize the landscape of the south of Gredos, raised for its Mediterranean crops of olive trees, vines, fig trees and chestnut trees. Next to these, the resin and laricio pines form a beautiful mosaic of color in the different seasons of the year.

From the small town of Navamediana and through an old cobblestone road the path leads us along the gorge to the high mountain of Gredos. The first section of the path runs through an oak grove, in the highest part there is a gap of aspens and birch trees that outline the gorge. As you go along the path, the sound of water becomes more intense causing waterfalls that will delight you .

It is a steep path that ascends the gorge of the Pelayo River, headed by the peak of La Mira. On the path you will find several fountains to refresh yourself, Fuente de Macario and Fuente del Amanecer. In the route you will see resin pines, junipers and piornales. The cuchillar de los Galayos is a clear example of gelifracción, effect that the action of freeze-thaw produces in the cracks of the rock. Contemplate these impressive formations.

It is one of the most magical places in Sierra de Gredos, forming a triangle with the Nava Lagoon and the Caballeros Lagoon. It is located in the municipality of Puerto Castilla. It is a long trail (24.5km. round trip), but with an easy walking terrain.

In the Sierra de Gredos there are numerous lagoons of glacial origin,this trail guides you to the spectacular Circo de Cinco Lagunas, through the Garganta del Pinar. Before reaching the bottom of the valley you will find a beautiful lagoon, Majalaescoba. In the last stretch, the hardest, you will leave behind this valley that would lead us to the Hoya de las Berzas to ascend to the left in search of the hanging cirque of Cinco Lagunas, your final destination.

The trail begins descending through the valley, the first stretch runs without vegetation, until you reach the domain of the bush. You will continue the ascent with the sound of water. In the upper section, the gorge of the Nava is more embedded and the route runs along a cobblestone path. We finish the climb with the view of the Circo de la Laguna de la Nava, a rock amphitheater created to safeguard the lagoon.

From the boulders of the river bed in the first part of the route, to high waterfalls, and winding gorges with beautiful pools of crystal clear water and waterfalls. At the end of the trail, where you reach the calm and calm waters of one of the most unknown lagoons of our Sierra.

In this path there is a great variety of trees such as birches, ashes, holly trees...; bushes such as heathers, hawthorns, mountain pines and herbaceous plants that surround the great lagoon of glacial origin. The tour begins at the hydroelectric plant "El Chorro" built in the twenties and continues following the impressive pipe that descends from the dam of the lagoon. You will cross a mountain meadow from where you will have a beautiful view of the Laguna del Duque.
