We are committed to the environment and work towards sustainable tourism.
That is why we are taking measures in this direction. More information
- The Astronorte Observatory is conceived as a space for the dissemination of astronomy through the various technical and human resources that form part of it.
- Our goal is to highlight the value of the sky over La Palma by promoting science through astronomy and enjoying the observation of the most impressive celestial objects.
- In addition to its educational and informative activities, it carries out the following actions in favor of the environment and against climate change: astro-tourism is carried out in areas of high natural value in a respectful and extremely careful manner with the environment, with nighttime outdoor activities, where customers are informed of the obligation to care for the space to ensure its preservation.
- Customers are also informed about actions against light pollution, a fundamental factor for the proper development of astro-tourism, in order to enjoy a clean sky free of atmospheric pollutants, explaining the need to reduce pollution and the abuse of night lighting, key elements in the fight against climate change.
- At our site, we obtain energy sustainably through photovoltaic systems that are not connected to the general electricity grid, allowing us to become a ZERO CO2 EMISSIONS project.
- In addition, we have a wastewater treatment system and use the water for our organic vineyard.
- We avoid generating waste and contribute to recycling by separating it at source.
