We are committed to the environment and work towards sustainable tourism.
That is why we are taking measures in this direction. More information
- The meaning of the environments through which we travel is transmitted in a very pleasant way, understanding the ecosystem and landscape, its evolution and main components - The biodiversity of these protected areas, the key species of flora and fauna present, their current state of conservation and threat is explained. - The necessary behavior of the visitor in these protected areas is indicated under the premise that you should not notice that you have been there, also transferring it to the route traveled. The imperative need to carry all waste generated, including organic waste, is demanded. A cooperative group work is done by collecting all the waste that is found along the route, making an assessment of the impact caused by each one that is removed, as an exercise of environmental awareness in situ. - In addition, at the end of the field trip, the participants are encouraged to visit the village of El Barraco and get in touch with its inhabitants by walking through its streets, bars and stores, thus making the necessary link between the landscape (environment) and the people (those who live there). - The production centers of the most cutting-edge local gastronomic initiatives, with recognized international awards to their credit, which fully complete the experience enjoyed, highlighting the Don Juan del Águila Winery (PDO Cebreros), the Craft Beer Factory Raíz Cuadrada and the Elvira García Cheese Factory.
Astronomical Observation evening guided by an expert with more than 10 years of experience, certified by the Starlight Foundation and SKYLAB astro-tourism dynamizer by Fundación Ávila and Diputación de Ávila. A bazaar of different materials and support instruments is used to make the explanatory dynamics very enjoyable, green laser to point objects in the sky, binoculars, large aperture optical telescopes and new generation intelligent telescope to fully contemplate the planets and deep space objects with different magnifications and different technologies. You learn how to orient yourself with the stars, calculate the time, recognize and find the most outstanding constellations in the sky at each time of the year. Basic concepts about the celestial vault, our position in the universe, distances and sizes, curious concepts about celestial objects and the evolution of the cosmos. All this simultaneously enlivened with the observation of the firmament through binoculars and telescopes: the Moon and its craters, the planets and their details, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, ....And there is always room, as a colophon, for a story or two about the mythological beings that fill the night skies with legends throughout the year.

- Expert guide who masterfully leads the activity with explanatory dynamics to learn to enjoy the sky with the naked eye, with binoculars and telescopes, identifying and interpreting the cosmic context of the observed elements. - Provision of medium-high range astronomical equipment for use by the group during the activity - Loan of a set of binoculars per person. Sometimes, depending on the number of participants, a group (family/friends) may need to share it - Although it is always recommended to come with enough warm clothes, in unfavorable weather, a blanket for the cold is loaned until the units are used up - Consultations can be made to resolve doubts.

The situation of strong gusts of wind, temperature and transparency of the sky due to haze or cloudiness, may influence the development of the event or even cause its cancellation - With clearly unfavorable weather forecast in advance, the cancellation is communicated as far in advance as possible.
- Where it takes place: Depending on environmental conditions, in the Astronomical Viewpoint or in the plot of the Museum of Nature (precise location will be communicated when making the reservation) - Approximate duration: 2 hours/2 hours and a half, adapting to the needs of the group. - Minimum - Maximum number of people per schedule: 10 - 25 - Available languages: Spanish - Accessible activity: NO - Suitable for families with children: YES, children from 9 years of age
- For the full enjoyment of an astronomical activity, it is necessary to accommodate the view to the night environment. This is the best way to enjoy the sky with the naked eye, but especially when using optical equipment such as binoculars and telescopes - It is therefore recommended not to use flashlights or mobile devices with a luminous screen, as this visual accommodation of the eyes is lost and it takes between 15 and 20 minutes to recover it. Some objects in the telescope are invisible without proper visual accommodation! - At some point it is necessary to use luminous devices or screens, but it is done in the most appropriate and convenient way for the proper enjoyment of the activity - All the interaction scenario for the activity will be strategically marked with luminous devices suitable for this type of event.
- The location of the event (museum plot or Mirador Astronómico) will be sent when making the reservation - When the activities take place at the Mirador Astronómico, vehicles will be left in the museum parking lot (located 250 meters from the viewpoint), thus avoiding glare to other participants, as well as the availability of sufficient space. - If desired, it is advisable to bring a chair or lounger to enjoy the event more fully - It is always a good idea to bring good footwear and warm clothing - This activity is not suitable for pets for several reasons: The use of lasers, other objects and electronic devices, is not compatible with the presence of pets; there is loose livestock in the vicinity; small children participate who may be afraid of the presence of dogs.
