Although uninhabited since the 1960s, Granadilla remains a living testimony to its rich history, with buildings that retain their essence and an atmosphere that envelops you in a unique charm.
The village was founded in the 9th century by the Muslims and played a strategic role during the Reconquest. However, it was in the 15th and 16th centuries when it reached its period of greatest splendor, with the construction of most of its current buildings, which combine Gothic, Mudejar and Renaissance styles. The wall, built during the Arab rule, is one of the best preserved in Spain and can be toured to experience history in an immersive way. At the entrance to Lavilla, the medieval castle invites you to climb up and enjoy epic views. The parish church of La Asunción and the Casa de las Conchas are just two of the architectural gems you can discover.
