Among our main actions are:- We actively support extensive livestock farming, a practice that contributes to the maintenance of rural landscapes and animal welfare. We encourage our guests to visit nearby farms, so that they can learn about the benefits of this livestock model and its importance for the ecological balance of the area - At Casa Rural Alvarado, we have provided nests on all the ledges of the house, with the aim of providing a safe space for local wildlife, especially for birds that can benefit from these natural refuges.

Nestled in a stunning valley less than 100 meters from the Clarion River, Casa Rural Alvarado stands as a historical treasure in the middle of nature and only 16 km from the coast. This jewel of the fifteenth century is located in Secadura, a town of great importance in the Medieval Trasmiera and listed as cultural heritage in the municipality of Voto, Cantabria.
Casa Rural Alvarado has been restored with a deep respect for its history and essence. This old defensive tower house from the 15th century has become a charming accommodation that combines the magic of the Middle Ages with the comforts of the 21st century. Its imposing main facade and outbuildings, which stand on a rock base, provide 360-degree panoramic views of the valley and its spacious lounges, with fireplaces and cozy interior corners decorated in detail, will transport you back in time. While their interior equipment with wifi, Smart TVs, radiant heating, high-end appliances in kitchens, guarantee a comfortable stay.
Within a walled enclosure, Casa Rural Alvarado offers two full rental units with maximum capacity for 32 people, Casa Cavellid with 4 bedrooms / 8 seats and Casa Alvarado with 9 bedrooms / 20 seats, being the larger one ideal for meetings and events. In both rental units each room has a private bathroom, underfloor heating and a unique decoration, providing a cozy atmosphere in all seasons. Also, each accommodation has parking and independent entrance to the property, garden area and covered barbecue with its own wood oven, as well as common covered areas for private use. The farm also has a cabin fully adapted for people with reduced mobility within the enclosure, which allows accessibility to the two rental units.
The natural environment surrounding Casa Rural Alvarado offers numerous trails that invite to nature walks. Guests can immerse themselves in rural life and learn about the latest innovations in agriculture by visiting a nearby farm or visit a nearby local winery where they can enjoy the excellent Cantabrian white wines and cava. And our privileged location between the natural park of Las Marismas de Santoña, Victoria y Joyel, and the natural park of the Collados del Asón, will allow them from hiking and discovering one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Cantabria, the source of the Asón river, to bird watching in marsh areas or wildlife in its natural habitat, in the park of Cabarceno.
Casa Rural Alvarado is located a few kilometers from the A8 highway, which facilitates access to airports, nearby ports and tourist attractions. So its strategic location allows you to explore both the coast and the interior of Cantabria, with beaches, caves, natural parks and much more within walking distance.
In addition, in order to make the group's arrival at the facilities more comfortable, the owners provide their guests with a free "Fridge Full" service.

It is not allowed to organize events on your own (client's) account, nor bachelor/bachelorette parties.
Reservations will not be accepted with a greater number of people than those selected at the time of booking. Failure to communicate events or farewells, will be reason for invitation to leave the facilities.
We love animals, however, we regret to inform you that we do not admit pets, as their management is impossible in large groups.
Cancellation fees:
Free cancellation up to 21 days prior to check-in.
The reservation can be cancelled free of charge up to 21:00 hours before 21 days before the day of arrival.
- If the reservation is cancelled less than 21 days and up to 21:00 hours 08 days before the day of arrival, the cancellation of the reservation will entitle to retain as compensation the deposit paid at origin to guarantee the reservation.
- If the reservation is cancelled 07 days or less prior to the day of arrival, 100% charges will be incurred.
- In case of no-show, the charge will be equal to the cancellation charge.
